Experience
Cloud and Automation Engineer – Brunswick Corp (NYSE:BC)
July 2022 – Present
- Led the divestment of an internal developer/app stack: handled Route 53 domain transfer, AMI delivery, MS SQL database copies, and WAF configuration to give the spun-off team a clean, secure landing zone. Directed 4 engineers.
- Rebuilt AWS infrastructure after a cybersecurity incident. Designed cross-account, immutable backup vaults (“break glass” pattern) using AWS RAM and automated backup policies, preventing mass deletions and restoring business continuity.
- Implemented EventBridge → ServiceNow dashboarding for global backup visibility, so leadership can see backup health across the entire company.
- Deployed 300+ servers and cloud resources across Azure, AWS, and OCI using Terraform and Puppet in Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, improving stability for external, revenue-impacting workloads.
- Built a custom Python ingestion pipeline from New Relic’s GraphiQL API into Power BI, giving observability and leadership clearer insight into cross-cloud health and trends.
IT Support and Azure Engineer – Velonex MSP, Los Angeles
April 2016 – July 2022
- Managed Cisco Meraki and FortiGate firewalls for NYSE:KW, including planning, configuration, and firmware upgrades, reducing security incidents and improving uptime.
- Provisioned and secured Azure VMs and services (Azure AD, Intune, Azure Security Center), applying best practices for third-party consultant access.
- Migrated an on-prem file server to Azure file shares for a real estate investment firm, cutting infra cost by ~30% and enabling secure remote access.
- Built SharePoint Online solutions to replace spreadsheet-based grant tracking for philanthropic orgs (EIF, Kevin Love Fund, Stand Up 2 Cancer, etc.), improving collaboration and reporting.
System Administrator / Owner – BJI Tech, Riverside, CA
January 2015 – April 2016
- Built and maintained Windows Server 2012 R2 environments, including IIS SSL certificate management and multi-VM federation setups, improving uptime and security posture.
- Managed hybrid Exchange 2013 / Office 365 for clients, cutting unused licenses and saving ~$4,000/yr.
- Diagnosed a domain-wide login failure by tracing the root cause to clock drift across virtualized domain controllers. Corrected NTP hierarchy and restored authentication.
Jr System Administrator – Trinet Internet Solutions, Irvine, CA
January 2014 – January 2015
- Supported Linux hosting environments, Cisco firewalls, and VPN access for remote staff.
- Deployed and troubleshot workstations, mail clients, and productivity tooling for the entire company.
